Oh jesus. I have to finish highschool just so I can get a job, maybe go to college? Straight from one uncaring system to another? All of a sudden I desperately want to trip.

I'm trying. I'm leaning towards music. I just don't like the idea of becoming a slave to money and I can't see any way around having and spending money. I hate it.

being physical beings were all bound to physical constraints. if it wasnt money it would be something else, like labor, barter etc. Arguably some systems work better than others, and consumer society is by no means "better" than many of the alternatives. Alas, its the dominant system on this planet in our days. just remember that its an artificial, abstract system of value that more efficiently represents your chances at corporeal survival(which is hardly a problem in modern society) and social status (which is hardly inmportant) rather than anything like fulfilment. If you keep that in mind, many choices will become clearer. discover your own needs and cater to them, most everything else is superflous or misguided.

Thanks. That's reasuring in it's own way. Mostly I stay sane by playing bass when reality starts to get depressing.

I live in toronto, buisness capital of Canada. On my comute to school i see the corporate towers scrape the scy with their grey lifeless stone. Complicity with drudgery will suck your soul. Ive been meaning to do a series of paintings on this theme, perhaps when school blows over.
